Clash of the Doctors

The 11th Doctor swung into his Time And Relative Dimension In Space (or T.A.R.D.I.S. for short). He had just finished visiting Amy and Rory’s home.

“Where shall we go next?” he asked the T.A.R.D.I.S.  “Should we go visit some old friends? No, take me somewhere new! I want to go on an adventure!”

The T.A.R.D.I.S. got to work, switching gears as well as pushing buttons and levers. She started moving through space and time, and the Doctor shouted at this joyous time. Soon, they arrived at their destination; the Doctor stepped out and clapped his hands once.

“Okay,” he said. “What have we got here?”

He began walking around, taking in the sights around him. There were tall trees with poofy tops, that looked like fuzzy lollipops with stripes. He stumbled upon a human sitting at a desk. He was typing furiously at a typewriter.

“Excuse me,” the Doctor said. “But can you possibly tell me where I am currently at … excuse me, sir?”

The man stopped abruptly. He slowly looked over at the Doctor. He became suddenly active, causing the Doctor to slightly jump back in surprise.

“Well, hello there,” he said looking over the top of his glasses. “I am Dr. Seuss and this is the Land of Seuss as some call it. It’s my land of imagination where I find my inspiration.”

“Okay …” the Doctor replied. “So who exactly are you?”

“Well this is a first,” he mumbled then said louder. “I am the author of over 40 children’s books. Dr. Seuss is my pseudonym, but I prefer to keep my personal life … secret. Of course, when I die the press is bound to find out about it. They’ll know about my actual life.”

He turned his whole body in his swivel chair towards the Doctor. “Would you like me to show you my little world I’ve created?”

“Sure!” the Doctor replied. “I’m always up for an adventure! There aren’t any daleks here, right?”

“I’m not exactly sure what a dalek is, but I do have…”

He began to name off creatures as they passed. He named Wockets who live in pockets, Sneetches on beaches , the Whos who lived in Whoville (the Doctor thought they might be part of The Silence), Cat with a cool bowtie and many more. Slowly he came to know and understand this Land of Seuss and all too soon came the time to say goodbye and leave.

“It was nice to get to know you, Doctor,” Dr. Seuss said.

“It was my pleasure I really enjoyed this time,” the Doctor said. “But I do have one teeny, tiny question dealing with wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff.”

“Ask away, my friend.”

“Are you a Doctor?” He smiled. “A Doctor like me.”

Dr. Seuss smiled back and answered simply, “Well if I revealed that now then who knows whose hands it would get into?”

With that, the Doctor was forced leave. He had universes and lives to save and important people to meet.
