Duncan High School Wrestling has a big new home to call their own. The Hoover Family Wrestling Center is an exclusive new center that they no longer have to share with other teams, which they use for duels, practice and little league wrestling. Located in the old middle school building on 9th Street.

Coach Brandon Benson says that the new facility is being put to good use.

“It’s nice to have a facility to call your own, rather than having to share it with a couple other teams, you know, it kind of gives you a sense of ownership,” Benson said.

Junior JJ Harris says the new facility is great for building memories.

“It’s a great way to start our careers and our wrestling ability by getting better and bringing more people in.” Harris said.

With their new facility they are able to practice for their upcoming matches much easier with all their new space.

Freshman Tate Wilkins prefers the new facility with two gyms and brand new scoreboards over the small gym the wrestlers were housed in before.

“It’s a lot nicer than that little wrestling room.” Wilkins said.

Overall the new wrestling center has become a great new addition to the Duncan High wrestling program.
