Duncan Public School District gets new superintendent

The Duncan Public School District officially hired its new superintendent, Melonie Hau, at its board meeting on Tuesday. Hau was hired for a 3-year term as superintendent that will begin on April 1.

The district has been without a permanent superintendent since last summer, when Dr. Sherry Labyer, the former superintendent, vacated the position. Glenda Cobb has filled the position as Interim Superintendent for the school year thus far.

Hau, the current assistant superintendent at Enid Public Schools, has 25 years of experience in the educational field and has had many different positions from teacher to principal.
