School bond issue rejected in election

A $2.7 million Duncan Public Schools bond issue failed to pass in a district-wide election Tuesday, with 60.55 percent of voters voting ‘no’ on the issue, according to the Stephens County Election Board.

The bond issue would’ve renovated facilities at the high school and EDGE Academy and provided FEMA-rated storm shelters for students at the locations. For more information on what the bond issue would’ve done if passed, read our related story here.
